About Al-Manal

Al-Manal College of Arabic and Islamic Studies is a distinguished institution committed to nurturing academic excellence, moral discipline, and spiritual enlightenment through Arabic and Islamic education. Located at No. 6, Lawal Street, Moshalashi Bus Stop, Shasha Road, Shasha, Lagos State, the college stands as a beacon of knowledge, faith, and integrity within the Shasha Muslim community and beyond.

Founded in 2017 by Imam Yakub Lawal As’Shashawy (LL.B Hons, B.L, LL.M) — Chief Imam of Shasha Central Mosque — Al-Manal College was established to bridge the gap between Islamic knowledge and modern education. It was officially registered with the Corporate Affairs Commission (CAC) in 2019 under the name Manal-ul-Uloom Arabic and Islamic Training College. Since inception, the college has served as a platform for nurturing disciplined, knowledgeable, and spiritually conscious individuals.

Our Mission

- To teach and train students and wards in Arabic and Islamic education through a balanced system — one devoid of indoctrination, sectionalism, and discrimination, and guided by uncompromising educational and moral standards.

- To create a disciplined environment for growth, self-discovery, resourcefulness, ingenuity, and integrity — all rooted in righteousness and spiritual consciousness.

- To instill a culture of duty and responsiveness, encouraging students to serve themselves, their communities, and society at large while promoting innovation, skillfulness, and moral excellence in line with Islamic teachings.

Founding Philosophy

Founded in 2017 by Imam Yakub Lawal As’Shashawy (LL.B Hons) (B.L) (LL.M) — the Chief Imam of Shasha Central Mosque, Lagos State — Al-Manal College was officially registered with the Corporate Affairs Commission (CAC) in 2019 under the name Manal-ul-Uloom Arabic and Islamic Training College.

The college was established to bridge the gap between Islamic knowledge and modern education, raising a generation of students who combine deep faith with intellectual excellence and social responsibility.
